Your first visit

You need an existing Space and the Kinra account it was set up for. If you have not been given access, the public site cannot provision it for you.

Sign in at the front door

1. Open kinra.space in a browser. This front door only signs you in; your files and conversations stay in your own Space.
2. It shows Signing you in to your Space… and passes you to Pocket ID, the Kinra sign-in at auth.kinra.ai. Complete it, including any passkey prompt it shows.
3. The front door sends you on to your Space, which finishes signing you in without asking again. Wait for Home to appear.

If more than one of your account’s Spaces is ready, the front door shows Choose your Space; choose the one to open.

Your browser now shows your Space’s own address, the address provided for your home. Bookmark it or install Space from it; either opens your Space directly. Returning brings you to the same machine and files.

Come inside at your own address

When you are not signed in, your Space’s own address shows its entrance rather than the front door. Choose Come inside and complete the same Pocket ID sign-in.

If the front door says there is no Space for your account, or that your Space is paused or not ready yet, or the entrance says your Space could not be reached, follow connection troubleshooting. Repeated sign-in cannot repair an unavailable machine.

Check that a model is ready

1. Choose your picture at the bottom of the sidebar, then Connections. On a phone, open the navigation drawer first.
2. Look at Kinra. Initial account setup runs after sign-in, and it refreshes while it finishes.
3. Follow Continue account setup, Reconnect Kinra or Sign in again if offered. Kinra explains a connection that needs attention.

You can also connect ChatGPT. That is an optional model connection. GitHub and Tailscale are needed only for work that uses them.

Ask one small question

1. Return to Home and choose Ask Kin. Kin’s panel opens over the page; on a phone it rises from the bottom of the screen.

2. The panel names Kin’s workspace, ~/Workspace/Kin, above the conversation. This is where you meet Kin and ask for changes to your home.

3. Enter a small request, such as:

   Help me plan a small herb garden. Ask about the space and sunlight before suggesting what to grow.

4. On a desktop keyboard, press Enter. On a touch keyboard, choose the arrow in the message box’s corner, Send message.

5. The first time, Kin asks whether to trust her workspace. Read the folder and choices before deciding; Not now keeps your message unsent. Answer further questions in the conversation.

You should see: your message followed by Kin’s activity and response. The model control at the bottom of the composer identifies the selected model. If no model is ready, return to Accounts and models.

Leave and return

Choose Hide Kin. Kin can keep working while you look elsewhere, on this page or another. Show Kin at the end of the top bar, or Ctrl+J (⌘J on a Mac), brings the same conversation back. Its row sits under Live, named Chat as its place, and on your home’s Sessions card. The sidebar’s Chat opens that conversation on the whole page; Open in Chat in the panel does the same. Opening the panel again takes up that conversation rather than starting another beside it.

Continue · … on Home returns to your last conversation. Use Ask Kin when you want a fresh one. Ended sessions are available through Session history…. If another device holds the keyboard, the same conversation opens for watching; see moving between devices.

Before reloading or closing the browser, save any file you are editing. Conversation drafts and file drafts have different lifetimes.
