A **page** is a small website Kin makes for you to read and fill in: a set of
questions to answer, choices to weigh side by side, a form, or a plan to mark
up. What you type on it is kept in the page's own folder on your machine as
you type it. When you're done, tell Kin in whichever conversation you're in,
and she reads it from there.

## Get a page

When a conversation would go better as a page, Kin offers to make one, once.
Say yes, or ask her for one yourself in any conversation. For example:

> Put these questions on a page so I can answer them properly.

She makes the page, shows it to you, and says it is under **Pages**. A page is
for something you fill in; for something you only read or try out, she shows a
[view](/docs/space/artifacts/) instead.

## Open a page

**Pages** joins **Home**, **Chat** and **Workspaces** on the sidebar's rail
once you have a page. It lists each page as a tile: its icon, its name, and
under the name the project it serves and when something was last saved on it,
such as **kinra-space · Saved 5 min ago**, or **Nothing saved yet**. The most
recently saved come first. **Refresh Pages** in the top bar reads them again.

Choose a tile to open the page. It takes the whole view, in your Space's light
or dark theme, and the top bar reads **‹ Pages** and the page's name. Choose
**‹ Pages** to go back to the list; on a phone it is the **‹** alone.

Opening a page starts no conversation and shows none beside it. The
conversation you were in stays as it was, ready for when you go back to tell
Kin about the page.

A tile's **…**, always at its end, holds **Open**, **Show in Files**, **Copy
its folder** and **Move to Trash…**. Right-click a tile, or focus it and press
Shift+F10, to open the same menu.

## Fill it in

Type, choose and drop files as the page asks. Its status line says when what
you typed was kept, such as **Saved 2:41 PM**, and **Picked up where you left
off.** when you come back to it. Drop files where the page asks for them, or
choose **Choose files…**; each is kept in the page's folder and listed with a
way to open or remove it. A file larger than 25 MB is refused.

If the same answers were changed somewhere else since the page read them, such
as in another tab, the page says so and offers **Show the newer answers**
rather than write over them. If a save does not go through, the status line
says so with **Try again**.

While a page is open it follows Kin's changes: when she edits it, it reloads
and keeps what you had typed.

## Tell Kin

A page never tells Kin anything by itself. When you're done, say so in a
conversation, for example *“I've filled in the trip page.”* Kin reads what the
page kept and what changed since she last looked, carries it where it belongs,
such as a decision or a note in the project, and records that she has read it.

## Where a page lives

Each page is a folder of `~/Workspace/Pages/` with its own Git history:

| In the folder | What it is |
| --- | --- |
| `PAGE.md` | The page's name, what it is for, and Kin's notes |
| `site/` | The page itself |
| `data/` | What you typed, one file for each part of the page |
| `data/files/` | The files you gave it |

**Show in Files** and **Copy its folder** in a tile's menu find it. A page
opens only in your Space; it is not published on the web. Every page shares one
private address there, so a page's own code could read what another page kept:
never put a password or another secret on a page.

## Remove a page

Choose **Move to Trash…** in the page's tile menu and confirm. Its folder, with
everything typed on it, moves to the `.space-trash` folder in your Workspace,
where you can get it back. Or ask Kin to remove it: she says what it kept and
where she carried it first.
